Week 9

Week 9 - Flemington - Race 8 - Number 10 - Wings of Song ($8.75)

For my week 8 bet, I’m putting my $100 on Wings of Song at $8.75.

She has had no luck in her last two runs, sitting three wide from barrier 11 in her last run at Morphetville (in a G2), ran on well in the later stages of the race to finish 8th, in a race that suited the front runners.

The race before that from the widest barrier went right back to last and made ground on all the leaders in a good run (running 5/9).

Draws barrier 4, gets into the race with 55.5kg (minus 2kg for an apprentice jockey). Therefore comes into this race carrying 3.5kg and 5.5kg less than her most recent races respectively.

Her last win at Cranbourne she was ridden a bit more positive than her last couple of rides, so it would be good to see her midfield, one off the fence somewhere as they turn into the long Flemington straight

I think the dangers are Pounding, Sibaaq and El Rocko
